WEF Director, Moidu, to be Honored with Sunrise Rotary Service Award

Special congratulations to Executive Director, Colleen Moidu, one of the Westerville Sunrise Rotary's 2020 Community Service Award recipients! We're so proud of Colleen and honored to have her leading our organization. She is an amazing force for good in our community and we're lucky to have her working with our Foundation.

Per the Rotary release: Colleen Moidu is being recognized for her tireless work and advocacy on behalf of Westerville school children and for promoting diversity and inclusion in the community.

In a few short years, Colleen’s efforts as the part-time Executive Director of the Westerville Education Foundation has more than doubled the impact and fundraising of the non-profit organization. Colleen’s unique leadership approach also joined together four local non-profits that often compete for donors in a unified initiative which brought about “Westerville Crossing Borders. ́ This was an instrumental part of Westerville’s Annual Community Culture Celebration with more than 1,200 attendees and 1,600 students participating. In the fall of 2019, Colleen volunteered to co-chair the Westerville Schools Levy Campaign which was approved by Westerville voters and provides for basic funding for all schools, necessary safety upgrades, and the construction of two new school buildings.

Colleen was nominated by Westerville Schools Superintendent Dr. John Kellogg, who added, “Colleen has that rare leadership quality that causes people to want to line up behind her and follow her into both known and unknown territory. She is an inclusive and thoughtful leader!”

Congratulations again, Colleen, and thank you for all your hard work, enthusiasm, and service to our community, our students, and our schools. ❤️
