The Westerville Education Foundation (WEF) has hired its first Executive Director, Colleen Moidu. Over the years, the Education Foundation has continued to broaden its support of the Westerville School District by lifting funding caps on grants and introducing online funding tools for teachers, “Adopt-a-Classroom and Fund-a-Project.” Moidu will help the WEF continue to build on this strong momentum and bring even greater levels of innovative learning opportunities to classrooms.
Moidu brings significant passion and experience to the Foundation’s Executive Director role. She is a Westerville South alumni and a graduate of Case Western Reserve University. She spent five years with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, where she took on increasing levels of responsibility, including the role of Regional Director overseeing MDA district offices, clinics and summer camps throughout Ohio and Michigan. Most recently, she felt called to volunteer with Community Refugee and Immigration Services, leading a successful campaign to raise more than $100,000 in 100 days. She is now a member of the Board of Directors for that organization. Moidu currently resides in Westerville with her husband, Farres, and three children. WEF is pleased to have her as part of their organization and looks forward to the positive impact she will have on students.
